The expanders are thin fiberglass rods used to shape the smoke opening in all models of Safir and Zirkon. They are an essential part of the Nordic tipi’s functionality and can be easily replaced if damaged. To prevent future damage to the expanders and their sleeves, we recommend following the instructions in "Packing the Nordic tipi" for proper folding of the tent fabric.
The expanders are sold individually.

At the top of the larger Nordic tipis there are expanders made of fibreglass, which stretch the smoke opening of single-pole Nordic tipis. The expanders are easily broken if handled incorrectly.
