FieldReady™ design is our approach to making products that really work out there in the real world. It’s about deep and thoughtful insight to solve a problem, not just doing what’s quick and easy.
It’s about products that help our commercial customers make money. Products that keep our customers safe, backed up with full structural calculations. Products with as few components as possible, to simplify inventory management and maximise return on investment. Products that are robust and easy to build, time after time after time.
We continue to refine our designs and create new ones, to lead and to innovate, with some very exciting projects in the pipeline.
Here are just a few examples of what FieldReady™ design means in practice.
No natural-looking woven fabric is waterproof – instead they are water resistant to a higher or lower degree. Despite a global search, we were not satisfied with the performance of any off-the-shelf fabric. So we took the time and trouble to develop a bespoke fabric with a much higher water resistance than any other we found.
That fabric is now made exclusively for us, and is only available from Tentipi.
We understand that customers want to have as few components as possible in their tent stock. It maximises return on investment, simplifies logistics, eases training, and reduces the chances of getting to site with the wrong equipment.
That's why we've been careful to ensure that all our linking equipment is identical, whether you are linking two tipis or 34 (our record to date).

Ventilator caps with external ropes are difficult to open and close when tents are linked, and prone to blowing open in the wind.
We've solved those problems once and for all with our In-Tent Vent ventilator cap. It's sewn in one piece, vastly reducing the chances of blowing open in the wind. It is open and closed from inside the tent making it simple to adjust in linked configurations.
It's much harder to manufacture, but worth the trouble.
The SmartPitch Kit allows you to build in more confined spaces, build faster, and keep the canvas cleaner. It’s easier, physically, too.
Gone are the days of having to spread the canvas on the ground when pitching and dismantling the tipi. So you need much less space (great for sites where space is limited), and don't need to spend the time to lay out a ground sheet.
Our training manual is optionally available printed on thick waterproof paper and housed in a tough plastic binder. Get it wet and muddy out there in the field and it won’t fall apart.
A simple, practical step that really makes a difference out there in the real world.
Supplying giant Nordic Tipis to progressive businesses, forward thinking organisations, and imaginative individuals is what we do. Backed by a range of services built on our own years of experience creating businesses with these tents, we're ready to help you to do something... different.
Most Tentipi® Nordic tipis are designed to be used with an open fire or stove; it is this feature that makes them a home from home in all weather conditions.
But please check local regulations, read and understand the instructions provided, and make sure you are fully competent to deal with the risks involved, before striking that match.
