The Runner

Promising long-distance runner Markus Torgeby lost his foothold in life. In order not to completely go under, he chose to escape the modern world. As a talented long-distance runner Markus was discovered during his teenage years by an enthusiastic coach. When the pressure and an injury put an end to his career he lost his foothold in life. In order not to completely go under, he chose to do what most of us only dream of: to escape the modern world.

Markus moved to an isolated and cold region of Sweden, right in the middle of the forest. There he lived alone as a recluse for four years in a Nordic tipi. The only thing he kept was his running - his ’drug’, the one thing he can’t be without. His time alone would prove to be more than an escape and was, in fact, a search for a direction in life.
