Tentipi Event Tents for Schools

Our tipis take inspiration from the kåta, the traditional home of the Sami people. We have combined this traditional design with innovative new features and premium materials to create extremely robust and long-lasting structures.

The timber and canvas construction creates atmospheric and inviting spaces which complement natural surroundings and allow groups to be amongst nature while sheltered from the elements.

We have a growing number of educational organisations using our tents, including both primary and secondary schools, forest schools, museums, scout groups and activity centres.

“There is a growing body of research that shows outdoor education has a positive effect on knowledge attainment and health, and this is reflected in the feedback that we receive from customers who use their tents for outdoor learning. Our structures provide children and teachers with inspiring outdoor classrooms to enhance learning.”
Ed Wright, Managing Director of Tentipi Event Tents UK & Ireland

Designed to withstand Scandinavian winters, our tents are extremely robust structures that can be used all year round. Our canvas has the highest level of water-repellent properties available, and our timber poles are rigorously lab-tested to ensure their strength.

Our tents are available in a range of sizes, with capacities from 16 to many hundreds in linked tents. Some tents can have sides opened or closed depending on the weather. The time required to pitch them varies from 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on the model. They can be easily moved or packed away and stored.

We provide detailed training documents and videos to all customers and offer an on-site training and installation service. Our customers receive Safety Manuals and have access to draft method statements, risk assessments and after-sales support for the life of their tents.

“To say we're loving the tipi would be an understatement. The children absolutely love it too, of course. They have performed in it for an evening musical event, used it for silent discos, completed art projects, had lunch when the weather is bad, had lunch when the weather is good, enjoyed assemblies, reading opportunities, science investigations and more...we also have big plans for Santa's Grotto in December. The list goes on and, just to emphasise - we love it!”
Dan Vidler, Deputy Headteacher at Coxley Primary School, UK

One of the really great features of Tentipi’s giant tent, the Stratus 72, is its abilities to be linked together, so you can add two, three, five, twelve tents, up to infinity, to create huge enclosed spaces that can host weddings, business events and festivals. This feature is perhaps the key to the company’s success in the event tent industry. And the invention came from one of our earliest customers – a Sami guy called Roger Rimpi from Jokkmokk, northern Sweden.

This year we are crafting the 2000th Stratus 72. Two thousand! One of these giant tents can host 72 people seated at tables. Connect all two thousand (yes, it is possible to connect them into infinity) and you could invite the entire populations of Andorra and Cayman Islands for an unforgettable evening under canvas. And there would still be plenty of space for catering, bands and dancefloors!

Rental company Papakåta were amongst our very first UK Event customers and have been at the forefront of the Nordic tipi event industry for more than a decade.

Founding Director, Richard Monaghan, tells us how he developed a new technique for linking seven tipis, in a circle, to fulfill a customer request.

This configuration came to be known as the "Firecracker". Thanks to Papakåta's generosity this technique is now widely used by our customers.

It’s not every day that we get an email from a customer to tell us they’ve created a film about why they love Tentipi, but that’s exactly what landed in our inbox last month.
