A tent with origins – a Nordic tipi
A Nordic tipi is a modern tent originating in the Sami kata. It has been the home and protection of the nomadic people way back, with a fire in the middle of the tent.
From the beginning, the Sami pitched their tents with poles and animal skins or some form of woollen cloth. These were taken with them to their places of residence when the reindeer herd moved between different pastures. They took their home and moved on.
